Tag me an Indie

It’s shaky cameras and b-list actors. It’s dark lighting and self-conscious stories. I think it’s unfair–to automatically connect this combination as a bad movie. I mean, what about 28 days Later? It was by far Boyle’s better movie over Slumdog Millionaire. But it is understandable to connect this combination as an Indie.
I guess we just need a little more time to show you the breadth and depth local indies can take you. I ask for your patience as I summon some power to find the money. And also, we just needto get better, too.

I just saw Raya Martin’s “Now Showing”, the beginning of a trilogy! I’m hoping he’s more of an exception but it seems that there are quite a number. Khavn de la Cruz must make at least 4 or 5 a year. Adolf Alix Jr. who has made about 5 or 6 full-lengths in the last 2 years or something. It’s astounding. It’s definitely worth studying.
I’m a firm believer in creating work regularly. Or else you get rusty. Or else you die.
Raya once said that I shouldn’t wait too long. “Just grab a camera and shoot.” I wish I did it like that. But it is not to be so. But I must be patient and positive, I must be.
What a wonderful time to be making movies!
Or maybe the rambling has to be contextualized. I am stuck in this project that I have to face like today.
