Aug 23 / 51 BIRCH STREET. Every family is messed up in their own little ways. So honest and complex. One of my fave personal docs. #docoftheweek

Aug 18 / THE TWO ESCOBARS. A drug lord and a superstar soccer player in the land of chaos that is Colombia. These ESPN docs ain’t bad. #okdocs

Aug 15 / HOOP DREAMS. The characters were so riveting I still want to know about their lives, post-HOOP (via wikipedia) .

Aug 8 / THE BEST WORST MOVIE. A doc about the worst movie made on earth, TROLLS 2, a movie that has nothing to do with Trolls.

Aug 1 / AMERICAN MOVIE. Portrait of an American who’s about to make the worst movie of all time. Movie magic in a messed up way.

Jul 25 / THE KING OF KONG: a fistful of quarters. Donkey Kong obsession. Even if you don’t care about video games, still awesome.

Jul 18 / TUNDONG MAGILIW. One of the finest observational documentaries every Pinoy should see. And you can! Jl19, GB3; Jl 20, CCP.

Jul 11 / HEARTS OF DARKNESS: A FILMMAKER’S APOCALYPSE. Watch the dark side of movie magic.

Jul 4 / SURFWISE. The most entertaining surfing movie ever. Stranger than fiction. Love BIG WEDNESDAY but I just love this more.

Jul 2 / KEEP THE RIVER ON YOUR RIGHT. He’s whip-sharp, funny and gay. He’s also tried cannibalism. Beat that.

Jun 30 / LAST TRAIN HOME. about a family in China and the challenges of diaspora. Pure sublime cinema. Might be in my top 20.

Jun 27 / THIN BLUE LINE. In memory of R. Adams who just passed away. The man freed from death row because of this Errol Morris film.

Jun 21 / STEAM OF LIFE. Finnish men pouring their hearts out, while in the sauna, in their naked glory!

Jun 13 / Doc of the Week is AFGHAN STAR. It’s American Idol but it’s not in America. Everybody loves singing contests!

May 31 / THE DEVIL AND DANIEL JOHNSTON by Jeff Feuerzeig. a bit of church, a lot of music and cuhrazy. thanks @mariocornejo.

May 28 / great-for-weekend doc: GATES OF HEAVEN by @errolmorris. strange, curious. pet cemeteries as backdrop.

May 24 / doc of the week is CRUMB. A portrait doc that is just literally mindblowing. Nobody’s normal in san francisco.

Apr 19 / Watching “Manufacturing Consent” is a mindfuck. It tells how media eats our brainzzz.
